Valhalla, NY – On a day where the weather was picture perfect, the SUNY Westchester set out on Vikings Field against Dominican University's JV Team and took home their seventh consecutive victory defeating the Chargers 16-5.
The Vikings came out strong in the bottom of the first scoring three runs to take the early lead. From there Westchester could coast to the seven-inning shortened game. The Vikings would tack on six runs in the bottom of the second and score a minimum of one run over the next four innings.
As a team, Westchester belted out 15 hits while striking out seven times and walking 12 times.
AJ Falciglia would lead the team with three hits, two doubles and two RBIs. Not to be outdone,
Marc Stockhausen would add two doubles and three RBIs in his three plate appearances.
Gavin Carlucci, who started the game on the mound, helped his own cause going one for one with a three RBI, bases clearing double.
Mark Yorio would earn the win throwing two innings striking out two on the day. The Viking pitching staff would allow only four hits while striking out eight.
Westchester looks to continue their winning ways with an away contest today at Manhattanville University against the Valiants JV team. First pitch slated for 3:30pm in Purchase, NY.
