Garden City, NY – Men's Soccer took home a 0-0 tie against #3 Nassau Saturday afternoon to move to 3-0-2 on the season.
For anyone who knows the dynamics of Region 15 Men's Soccer, then you'll know the dynasty that Nassau has built over the years. They have been on top of the standings year in and year out with multiple births to the NJCAA National Tournament. The Vikings who have had their best start in program history, recently tied #7 ranked SUNY Ulster and were looking to come away with a great game against the Lions. Westchester would live up to the task.
An even-keeled first half for both teams as both goalies would rack up a save while the Vikings lone shot on goal in the 44' minute by
Christian Antunez would be saved. Westchester would also get two corner kicks while the Lions would receive three of them.
The second half saw much of the same however Nassau would edge the Vikings 6-2 in shots. A defensive battle throughout much of the game would eventually end with both teams not finding the back of the goal.
A true testament by SUNY WCC putting their name out in Region 15 as possibly a contender. They look to continue their statement making season tomorrow as they travel to Middletown, NY to take on SUNY Orange.
