Lady Vikings Take Two in Sunday Double Duel Against Hostos and Bronx

Suffern, NY – Women's Volleyball took home two wins Sunday afternoon at Rockland Community College against Hostos and Bronx Community College 3-1 and 3-0 respectively.
 
Game 1: 3-1 W vs. Hostos
 
The Lady Vikings would battle in their first set against the Caimans but ultimately fell 25-23. This would be the only time SUNY Westchester would drop a set throughout the day. In the second set, the Vikings would come away with a 25-11 win thanks to five kills and only one error. The third set saw much of the same with Westchester taking home the 25-15 victory which was powered by 12 kills. The fourth and final set came close to pushing the match to a deciding fifth set however, the Vikings would push past Hostos 25-20 to take the game.
Westchester would lead in every statistical category. 37 match kills, 16 aces, seven blocks, 31 assists, and 35 digs. Ziacera Sexton would have a match-high 20 kills followed by Julia Pawlowicz who would add 14 kills of her own. Pawlowicz would have a match-high seven aces. Megan O'Hara would add four blocks in the game.
 
Game 2: 3-0 W vs. Bronx
 
The Vikings would sweep the Broncos 3-0 in their second match of the day thanks to 22 team kills and only five errors committed. Once again Westchester would be powered by Sexton who would have a match-high 12 kills followed by Pawlowicz's nine. Both Sexton and Pawlowicz would have 10 digs each in the win.
 
 
The Lady Vikings look to continue their hot streak with a home match against Conference and Regional foe Dutchess Community College tomorrow, September 24th, here in Viking Gymnasium. The Match is set to start at 7pm and will be streamed on the Vikings Sports Network via Facebook.
