Last week was a very tough week for the Men's basketball team schedule wise. They faced 3 teams that at some point this year were ranked or receiving votes in the national polls. Montgomery College of Rockville was receiving votes last week, as well as County College of Morris and then this past Thursday they played #17 ranked Raritan Valley. They lost those three games but gave those very good teams everything they had, losing by 10 or less in all three. 

 

Westchester desperately needed to return home and grab a win and they did just that against Bronx Community College. Credit Bronx for playing a tough first half and only trailing by 12 at halftime(34-22). However, in the second half WCC turned up the pressure and ended up winning in dramatic fashion and by a decisive 39 points. 

 

Freshman, Arber Mustafaj(Yonkers Montessori Academy/Yonkers,NY) had a career and game high of 14 points for the Vikings. Right behind him was Tarik Dacosta(Marist High School/Bronx,NY) who had 13 points and 7 assists. 

 

After a much needed home win, The Vikings will travel down to Baltimore Maryland for a game against division 1 Baltimore County Community College. They will look to make it a two games win streak and head into Christmas Break on a high note!
