The Vikings returned home yesterday to play County College of Morris, but could not keep pace with them. Westchester ultimately lost the game, 12-4.
The first half of the game was close, with the score being tied at 3-3 after the fourth. The latter half of the game is where Westchester fell short. Where the Titans were able to score an additional 9 runs, the Vikings could only get one. Despite the deficit, Westchester had four batters earning runs: Freddy Heymach, Jhonny Ortiz, Joseph Cohen, and Brandon Hernandez. Pitching five innings for the Vikings was Derek DeResh, giving up 5 hits, while striking out 5.
The Vikings will be looking for redemption as they play County College of Morris again today, March 27th, at 3:30pm in Randolph, NJ.
