In a dominating victory, the Westchester Vikings defeated the Orange County Colts, 10-0. Pitching all seven innings for the Vikings was Derek DeResh, who didn't let the Colts get anything past him. With no runs from Orange, DeResh struck out 6 batters.
The Vikings started off the scoring in the second inning when Michael Tiseo scored on a steal of home plate. Following his lead, Joseph Cohen also scored on a steal of home. The third and final run of that inning was made by Elijah Villanueva. The bottom of the third was another successful one for Westchester. Cohen got it started by hitting a triple, allowing Jhonny Ortiz and Randel Weisner to score. Cohen was able to score shortly after, due to Villanueva's hit, who also scored in the third. In the fifth inning, the Vikings saw two more runs by Ryan Done and Elijah Villanueva. In the seventh and final inning, Nick Vendola was able to score a run, to bring the VIkings to their 10 point victory.
Tomorrow, the Vikings will take on Dominican University at 3:30pm at Vikings Field. After a close loss against the Chargers just last week, Westchester will be looking to redeem themselves.
