Valhalla, NY - On a beautiful September Day, the Valhalla campus roared to life at about 9am as student-athletes, coaches and staff welcomed a steady stream of classic and rare cars on Sunday. Dubbed the Viking Classic, this show featured makes and models from all years, models and makes. The show peaked at over 130 cars. Participants and spectators alike admired vehicles, dozens of which were rare and worth of the coveted best of show award. There was great conversation, music food, prizes and giveaways! Over 30 cars received top awards in total but there were many more worthy of being acknowledged. Taking home the best of show award was a 1969 Dodge Charger, which remained with it's original owner and was recently restored to mint and factory condition. Â
WCC Athletics would like to thank all of the student-athletes and staff who helped make this year's show a success. We'd also like to thank Bangin' Gears Garage and the NY Cruisers for helping to plan and market our event. With help from security, buildings and grounds, maintenance and the Alumni Association, the program raised over $4000 for athletic scholarships. A big thank you to our supporters including the Westchester County Police Department, US Eddies Swimming Center, Madison Planning Group, Pat's Deli, Crown Trophy - Briarcliff Manor, Dom and Vinnie's Pizzeria, and the Mount Kisco Ice Cream Shop for making this event possible. Â
