Valhalla, NY - The women's volleyball team got off to a great start in the 2025 campaign as they defeated SUNY Orange in straight sets.  The team was eager to see how they would fare against the defending Mid Hudson Conference Champions, a team they had lost to twice last season. 
The first game of the match went back and forth as the Colts jumped out to an early 10-7 lead.  The teams traded points all the way to the end but it was Westchester who would take home the game 26-24.  The first game win gave the Vikings the confidence needed to keep the pressure on as they won the 2nd game 25-16.  After jumping out to a dominating lead in the 3rd, WCC had a hard time putting Orange a way mid match, but they were able to score often enough to win comfortably 25-18 to take home the first win of the year.  
With the win the team moves to 1-0 on the season and will be back in action on Tuesday, September 9th as they welcome in Rockland at 7pm in the Viking Gymnasium.
