The Westchester Vikings delivered a strong performance on April 27, 2026, at the Town of Wallkill Golf Course, finishing just one stroke behind Nassau Community College for a second-place team finish.

Leading the way was Kellan Higgins(Yonkers,NY/Archbishop Stepinac High School), who earned top golfer honors with a tournament-best 83. Jack Canalin(Baldwinsville, NY/Encinal High School) followed with an impressive 88, while Brendan Smith(Holmes, NY/Pelham High School) added a 93 to keep the Vikings in contention throughout the day. Stephen Alvarez(Brookfield,CT/Danbury High School) and Tyler Bradshaw(New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle High School) each carded 99s as Westchester battled until the final holes in one of the closest matches of the season.

The Westchester CC Vikings captured first place in a four-team field with another impressive performance on the course, finishing ahead of Nassau Community College, Ulster County Community College, and Orange County Community College.

Kellan Higgins led the way for the Vikings with a team-best 86, while Tyler Bradshaw followed closely behind with an 88. Brendan Smith added an 89 as Westchester placed three golfers under 90 in a balanced team effort. Stephen Alvarez carded a 93, Jack Canalin shot a 96, and Emily Hernandez(Hartsdale, NY/Saunders High School) finished with a 98 to round out the lineup.

The first-place finish gives the Vikings momentum heading into the Region 15 Championships at Spook Rock Golf Course on May 14-15, where Westchester will look to continue its strong spring season.
