Coach Weinbaum joined the Viking Staff as the Pitching Coach in the Fall of 2022. Pete, who had a very unique and unorthodox path to professional baseball, started his college career at Nassau Community College without touching a baseball since the age of 13. While at Nassau after a 21 month period, had his velocity go from the low 80s to the mid 90s. Pete was then selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 11th round of the '91 draft. His philosophy of older training techniques blended in with today's velocity gaining methods will be the key to making the Vikings pitching staff get the best out of their performances.
Coach Billy McClure stated "Pete's knowledge and expertise in pitching and in the game of baseball will help our program, especially our pitchers to grow exponentially! We are so glad to have him join our staff for the upcoming 2023 season!"
Coach Weinbaum was previously the pitching coach at Molloy University in Rockville Centre, NY from 2008 - 2012.
He is the proud husband and father to Marni, Maggie, and Andrew respectively.
