Box Score 2 May 1, 2017 – Middletown, NY
The Vikings swept two games and the series against the Colts of Orange County up in Middletown, NY by the scores of 19-8 and 18-7 respectively.
In game 1, OCC jumped out to an early 2-0 after the first inning. After a 5 run second inning by WCC in the top of the second, Orange scored 6 runs to take back their lead 8 to 5. The Vikings bats would erupt yet again scoring 14 runs in the fourth and the fifth innings to help solidify a come-back win.
Felix Camacho (St. Raymonds HS/Bronx, NY) lead the offense by going 4 for 5 with a home run, double and 5 RBIs.
Steve Guzman (John F. Kennedy HS/Bronx, NY) also contributed with a double of his own and had 4 RBIs.
Brian Corporan,
CJ Sager,
Jon Carlo Angiolillo, and
Alonso Tenya also contributed with 2 hits each in the win.
Ryan Mullaly (Somers HS/Somers, NY) earned his fourth win in relief by pitching 3 1/3 innings of 4 hit ball only giving up 1 earned run.
In game 2, Westchester's bats stayed hot scoring at least one run per inning and pounding out 17 hits over the 7 inning game. With another 5 run second inning and two 4-run innings, the Vikings sealed a victory over the Colts. Offensively, WCC was led by
Brian Corporan (Environmental Studies HS/Bronx, NY) and
Steve Guzman with 3 hits, 2 doubles and 5 RBIs each. Guzman also added 2 triples during the game.
Alex Borman,
Scottie Giordano, and
CJ Sager added to the run support with 2 hits apiece along with
Paul Franzese's (Somers HS/Somers, NY) solo home run.
With these 2 wins, the Vikings are now 30-11, making this the 6
th year in a row with 30 or more wins during the season. Westchester also moves into first place in the Mid-Hudson Conference with a 12-4 record. WCC will finish off their regional play with a 4 game set against the Ulster Senators. First game will be played on Thursday May 4
th with a 3:30pm start time.
