(Valhalla, NY) - From 1968-1992, Westchester Community College featured a football team that was regularly considered to be among the very best in Community College Athletics. The Westchester CC Sports Hall of Fame features three specific Viking Football teams, as well as nine individuals who earned distinction as members of the football program.

This past weekend, the tradition of excellence encompassing football at Westchester Community College was celebrated with the program's annual alumni reunion. Dozens of Viking Football alumni ventured to the Valhalla campus to reminisce about the program's past, and celebrate the many highlights accomplished by the program.

On Friday, June 1, the alumni gathered in the student center to watch old game reels that were recently digitized in order to preserve them forever. The next day, a celebration barbeque was held on-campus. There are plans to not only continue the reunion tradition for the Westchester CC Football program, but to also develop programs to bring together alumni from other sports that Westchester Community College has sponsored in the past, and/or sponsors presently.
