Taylor Mello (Putnam Valley, NY/Cortlandt Manor HS) opened her WCC career with 11 kills and five digs, and fellow sophomore
Madison Young (Hartsdale, NY/Woodlands HS) added nine kills, three digs, and three blocks, but the Westchester Community College Women's Volleyball team opened the 2018 season with a 3-0 to defending Mid-Hudson Conference Champion Rockland Community College on Tuesday night at Rockland CC.
All three sets were battles as the host Hawks earned the victory by outscoring the Vikings 25-19, 25-22, and 28-26.

Lindsay Leggio (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac HS) chipped in 26 assists, seven digs, and three service aces, while freshman
Melody Pabon (Bronx, NY/Celia Cruz) added five kills and eight digs, while
Alysha Owens (Mount Vernon, NY/Mount Vernon HS) had eight kills, three digs, and two service aces.
Westchester returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 13 when they travel to Orange Community College for a 7:00 p.m. Region XV/Mid-Hudson Conference match-up.
