(Groton, CT) - It might not have been the biggest win of the young season for the Westchester Community College Men's Basketball team ... but in the scheme of things, it might have been the most important. Three days after a devastating defeat at the hands of Essex County College, during which the Vikings led for almost the entirety of the game, the Vikings responded with an efficient 83-66 win over UConn-Avery Point on Sunday afternoon at UConn-Avery Point. With the win, the Vikings are now 4-1 for the 2019-2020 season.
Sophomore
Anthony Monti (Yonkers, NY/St. Raymond's) had the finest game of his young Vikings career, scoring a career-high 14 points, 10 of which came during the second half. Freshman
Noe Fleurimond (Greenburgh, NY/Woodlands HS) led all scorers with 20 points, while sophomore
Joe Zayer (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South HS) added 18 points.
Westchester Community College returns to action on Tuesday, November 12 when they travel to Dutchess Community College for a 7:00 p.m. start.
