Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

That's Moore Like It: Men's Basketball Dominates Dutchess CC behind freshman's career game

(Poughkeepsie, NY) - 12 different Vikings scored points, three of which hit career highs, and the Viking defense held an opponent below 70 points for the third time during the last four games as the Westchester Community College Men's Basketball team earned its second straight win, 93-60 over Dutchess Community College on Tuesday night at Dutchess CC. With the win, Westchester is now 5-1 for the 2019-2020 season.

Both teams got off to a slow start, and it was even at 10-10 midway through the first quarter before the Vikings heated up, and never looked back. Westchester held a 42-24 lead at halftime, and put their depth on display over the final 20 minutes, capturing their second win this season by 30 or more points.

Freshman Malik Moore (Tuckahoe, NY/Tuckahoe HS) led all scorers with a career-high 17 points, including three three-pointers. He was one of four Vikings to score in double figures. Sophomore Anthony Monti (Yonkers, NY/St. Raymond's) also hit a career high, scoring 15 points, while freshman Justyn Mazyck (Bronx, NY/Stevenson) notched a career-high 10 points. Also for Westchester, freshman Noe Fleurimond (Greenburgh, NY/Woodlands HS) continued his torrid start to the 2019-2020 season with 10 points.

Westchester CC returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 16 when the Vikings travel to Maryland for the Cecil College Mixer. Westchester plays Cecil on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. before facing Allegany College of Maryland on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
