(Saugerties, NY) - Freshman
AJ Falciglia (Elmsford, NY/Stepinac) went 2 for 5 - including a double and a home run - and had two RBI's, and freshman
Luisbert Frias (Port Chester, NY/Port Chester HS) had two hits, but the Westchester Community College Baseball team lost 16-10 to Ulster Community College on Friday afternoon at Ulster CC. With the loss, the Vikings are now 19-12 overall, and 7-3 in NJCAA Region XV play.
Westchester got off to a hot start, scoring two runs during the first inning, three runs an inning later, and one more during the top of the third inning, to take a 6-0 lead. However, Ulster scored 13 runs over the next two innings, to pull ahead for good.
Aside from the heroics by Falciglia and Frias, freshman
Don Hopper (Garrison, NY/Walter Panas HS) enjoyed his finest pitching performance of the 2022 season, tossing three innings of shutout ball.
Westchester CC and Ulster CC return to action on Saturday, April 23 when the two teams meet for a doubleheader at Vikings Field. The first pitch will be at 12:00 p.m.
