(Valhalla, NY) - The Westchester Community College Football program may have stopped competing more than a quarter century ago, but Vikings football remains one of the proudest and richest traditions within the athletic department. On Saturday, June 11, for the first time in three years, Westchester CC's football alumni continued their tradition of a spring barbeque. Dozens of former Westchester football players gathered at the Westchester CC Student Center to reminisce about the past, and maintain a close bond that has lasted through the years.

Westchester Community College Football won national championships in 1971, 1975, and 1976, and produced dozens of All-Americans and eight members of the Westchester CC Sports Hall of Fame. The program's most recent gathering took place at the 2019 Hall of Fame induction banquet when the 1973 team was inducted as Team of Distinction.

Plans are already in the works for a 2023 barbeque event.
