Valhalla, NY - In a battle of the Vikings, Men's Soccer welcomed the VIkings of Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday, in a non-regional matchup.  Though Westchester's defense stood tall and allowed but one goal on a penalty kick, Hudson Valley topped WCC 1-0.

Westchester had a a few scoring chances early but could not convert as each team did a good job of limiting clean shots.  In a sequence where it seemed that Westchester had the ball cleared and would go the other way, a foul was called in the box, awarding Hudson Valley the penalty shot.  Their striker was able to convert, kicking just below the cross bar and Westchester trailed 1-0.  

The game stayed tied until the final buzzer as both teams excelled at limiting scoring chances.  With the loss, the Westchester Vikings fall to 3-2 (3-1 in Region XV) on the season.  They return to action at 4pm on Tuesday, September 20th as they welcome the Wave of Kingsborough Community College.
