September 21, 2022

Valhalla, NY - On the eve of WCC's Blue and Gold celebration of school spirit, the men's soccer team was supported by a strong fan turn out, that was treated to a 7-0 victory over the visiting Wave of Kingsborough Community College, 7-0.  Seven Vikings scored individual goals in a truly well-rounded, team effort.

Freddy DePaz (YONKERS, NY/ROOSEVELT HS) opened the scoring as he netted a ball cross by Alabdiel Hernandez (OSSINING/OSSINING HS) at the 16 minute mark.  Eduardo Vazquez then extended the lead at 30 minutes, followed by a goal by Romaine Swaby (MOUNT VERNON, NY/MOUNT VERNON HS) seconds before the end of the half, to end the period up 3-0.  In the second half, the scoring continued as Jason Otiniano (WHITE PLAINS, NY/VALHALLA HS), Alejandro Martinez (NEW ROCHELLE NEW/ROCHELLE HS), Jason Duque (SLEEPY HOLLOW/SLEEPY HOLLOW HS), and Peter Saca (ELMSFORD, NY/ ALEXANDER HAMILTON) all put in unassisted goals to put the game away.  Israel Pardo (Bedford Hills, NY/Fox Lane HS), started the game in goal and did not allow the Wave to score as he recorded his 2nd career win.

The Vikings' record now stands at 4-2 overall (4-1 within Region XV).  They return to play on Thursday, September 22nd as they welcome Nationally Ranked (#10) Bergen Community College for a 4pm match on Barret Field.
