Pure Energy - Hannon and Company Defeat Orange for the 2nd Time to Remain Undefeated

Valhalla, NY - Women's Volleyball continued their strong play as they hosted Orange Community College for their first home game of the season.  In front of a great crowd, the team won in four games, earning the victory 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 25-13, 25-23).

Mikaelyn Hannon (Yonkers, NY/Peekskill HS) led the Vikings with 11 kills and 6 service aces.  Sara Ortiz (Elmsford, NY/White Plains HS) anchored the team with 21 digs as the Westchester excelled at keeping plays alive.  Ireana Olivo (Yonkers, NY/Maria Regina HS) also added 18 digs of her own to go with 7 kills.  Gabriella Cresti Caetano was a force at the net with 5 blocks and 4 kills. 

Westchester also got key contributions by AngelaRosa Garofalo (Mahopac HS/Mahopac, NY) as she kept the team energized with her leadership.  Victoria Amaya (Greenburgh, NY/Woodlands HS) entered the game during a key point in the last game where she made two tough service passes to break a run of points Orange was on as they threatened to force a game 5. 

With the victory, the Vikings move to 3-0 on the season.  They return to action on Saturday, September 24th as they travel to BMCC to take on both the Panthers and FIT in a double dual matchup.  First serve is at 12 noon.
