Valhalla, NY – Thanks to a career-high tying 22-points from
Yave Cruz, the Vikings would end 2023 on a high note with a 77-56 win over the BMCC Panthers Tuesday night.

Westchester would fall down early to the Panthers 15-11 at the 13-minute mark in the first half before a 13-2 run by the Vikings would give them a seven-point lead at the 9:30 mark. After a Panther three-pointer by Khalil Black, Westchester 's offense would explode to finish the first half with a 23-6 run giving them a 47-26 lead.
Aaron Nicholas would lead SUNY WCC with 14 points followed by Cruz who added 10.

Coming out of halftime, the Vikings would be able to play more fundamental basketball to lead them to victory. Westchester's bench would contribute 20 of the 30 offensive points which is what Head Coach
Andre Pennicooke wanted to see. Cruz added 12 points in his career tying night. BMCC would match the Vikings 30 points however the first half deficit would be the dagger of the game. The Panthers were led by both Black and Isah Mohammad who had 13 points apiece. Behind Cruz, Nicholas added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Vikings, while
Josendy Nova would add 13 points and five assists in the SUNY WCC win.
