Valhalla, NY - The Men's Basketball team shook off a tough loss to Orange on Tuesday with a strong performance versus Rockland on Thursday.  Westchester fell behind early but then took the lead for good with 6 minutes left in 1st half in route to a 91-84 victory.  

Rockland build a lead as large as 9 points to start the game as they shot well and played tough defense.  An Ed Beqiri layup gave the Vikings the lead with 5:32 left in the 1st, and Westchester never lost the lead from there, though the game remained competitive throughout.  The halftime score was 42-38 in favor of the Vikings.   In the 2nd half, the team would pull away by as many as 15 points but they were unable to stop the Hawks from cutting into the lead.  A RCC layup with 1:38 to go brought drama to the final seconds of the game, but in the end the Vikings were able to extend the lead down the stretch to seal the win.    

WCC received points from all who entered the game and four players put up double digits in scoring led by Ed Bequi who had 25 and Omar Nkonde who notched 23.  Yenfry Paulino and Trevor Mooney scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

With the win, Westchester moves to 11-12 on the season and 3-3 within Region 15.  They return to action on Tuesday as they travel to SUNY Sullivan for a 7pm tipoff.
