Jack Of All Trades! Kossow And Grullon Move Vikings Win Total To 14

Auburndale, FL - The Vikings continued their hot start down in the Sunshine State with another two wins over Alexandria Technical College (4-2 W) and Bucks County Community College (14-10 W). Westchester is now 14-2 overall and 5-0 in the RussMatt Invitational Tournament.

Game 1: 4-2 Win

Jackson Kossow (Somers HS/Yorktown Heights, NY) highlighted the first game of the day for the Vikings. Three hits and eight strikeouts in a complete game victory over the 13th ranked Legends of Alexandria Technical College. Westchester would take the lead early in the second inning thanks to an RBI single from Anthony Dolce (North Salem HS/North Salem, NY), a sac fly from Michael Ambrosecchia (Mahopac HS/Mahopac, NY), and a stolen base to home by Ryan Osso (Eastchester HS/Eastchester, NY). The fourth insurance run would come from an Ambrosecchia RBI single in the fourth inning which ultimately solidified Kossow's top-notch performance.

Game 2: 14-10 Win

A completely different game from game one. It would be a back and forth battle from the start. 24 runs scored and 16 hits between the two teams in the almost three hour game. Alvy Grullon (St. Raymond's HS/Bronx, NY) led Westchester on the bump throwing five innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out four. Tommy Poggi (Briarcliff HS/Briarcliff, NY) had a day at the plate going three for five with five RBI's. Poggi helped lock down the win on the mound closing the game in the last two innings and striking out three. Frias would also go two for two scoring three runs and walking three times.

Westchester's next scheduled game is on Thursday March 16th when they face SUNY Adirondack in a doubleheader starting at 11 O'Clock AM at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, FL.
