Valhalla, NY – As opening day was happening around Major League Baseball, the Vikings were already in mid-season form heading into their game against the Monroe-Bronx Express. Westchester put up 10 runs in the nine-inning game enroute to their 21^st win of the season.
 
The Viking offense was powered by four sophomores; Weston Baronian (Pascack Valley HS/River Vale, NJ) would lead the team with three hits, a double, one run scored and five RBIs; Luisbert Frias (Port Chester HS/Port Chester, NY), who continued his hot hitting, went two for three and three runs scored; Ryan Osso (Eastchester HS/Eastchester, NY) would also go two for three with a run scored and an RBI; and finally Michael Manganiello (Archbishop Stepinac HS/Yonkers, NY) would add to the RBI train with two of his own.
 
Westchester's starting pitcher Thomas Browne (Pleasantville HS/Pleasantville, NY) was dominant from start to finish going eight strong innings only allowing five hits and two earned runs while striking out eight. Browne would pick up his fifth win of the year.
 
SUNY WCC's next game will now be on Sunday April 2^nd when they travel to Raritan Valley for a 12pm doubleheader in the Garden State. The game was moved due to the pending weather forecast for Saturday April 1^st.
