Valhalla, NY – The Vikings bounced back on a picture-perfect day yesterday with a solid 5-0 victory over SUNY Dutchess at Barrett Field. Westchester improves to 2-1 on the year.
The game started off slow for the Vikings getting their first shot on goal in the eighth minute. That's when the flood gates opened. Westchester would get off three more shots on goal before the first goal was netted by
Brian Cifuentes in the 14
th minute.
Carliston Brown would score the second Viking goal in the 39
th minute thanks to an assist from
Peter Saca. SUNY WCC would outshoot Dutchess 17-3 in the first half.
The second half saw more of the same from the Vikings. Brown would score his second of the game pushing the lead to 3-0 four minutes into the half. Hendell Dos Santos and
Lorenzo Santucci would get in on the action scoring in the 72
nd and 86
th minute respectively to solidify the Viking Victory.
Alexander Mina and Cifuentes would add an assist to both goals.
Nicholas Nunez would end up with four saves on the afternoon.
Westchester outshot SUNY Dutchess 30-7, 18 of which were on goal to the Falcons five. The Vikings next game is next Thursday, September 21
st, when they travel to Bergen Community College for a non-region match starting at 4pm.
