Suffern, NY - Despite a game-high 27 points and 14 rebounds from
Mujahid Dine Yacoubou, the Vikings fell to Conference and Regional foe Rockland Communty College last week by the score of 86-82 putting Westchester at 3-7 on the season and 1-2 in Conference play.
The first half would go the Vikings way leading the Hawks 44-37 heading into halftime. The script would flip however in the second half with Rockland (7-2, 3-0) outscoring SUNY WCC 49-38 ultimately taking the four point victory as well as putting them in a two-way tie for first in Conference play.
Four other Vikings would score in double-figures outside of Yacoubou's 27 points.
Chris Kirkland would have 13 points and six rebounds in the loss followed by 12 points from
Elijah Hernandez, 11 points from
Luke Walker, and 10 points by
Mody Siby.
Rockland was led by Abijah Miller who had a team high 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Westchester looks to get back to .500 in Conference play when they host the Generals of SUNY Sullivan tomorrow evening inside Viking Gymnasium. Tip-off will be at 7pm with the game being streamed live via the Westchester Vikings Sports Network on Facebook.
