Randolph, NJ – The Vikings took home a road win Saturday afternoon 100-92 against the County College of Morris behind a career-high 34 points from Sophomore
Yenfry Paulino.
WCC took the 5-3 lead early in the first half over the Titans followed by a Viking 16-5 run. Morris would answer right back with an 18-8 run with 13 minutes left in the first half. The Titans would add another 15 points while blanking SUNY Westchester with 8:39 left. Heading into the half, Morris would lead the Vikings 47-40.
Coming out of halftime, Westchester would tie the game at 51 with 15:57 left. WCC would take the lead shortly there after and continue to hold off any Titan comeback. The Vikings would go up by as many as 18 before some Morris pressure and key WCC turnovers closed the lead to five. Westchester would hit some late three-points and key free-throws to lock in the victory.
The Vikings, despite being led by Paulino's 34 points, were led by
Yave Cruz who contributed 23 points and 10 rebounds, Wyatt Treistman who added 21 points and a game-high 17 rebounds, and
Elijah Hernandez who had 15 points, 12 assists, and seven rebounds. The Titans were led by Jonathan Edwards who had a team-high 29 points.
Westchester looks to continue their winning ways when they travel to SUNY Ulster on Tuesday February 6
th for a 7pm game.
