Valhalla, NY – Men's Soccer took home a commanding win Saturday afternoon against LaGuardia Community College 10-0 to move to 3-0 on the year.
On what was a picture-perfect September afternoon, the Vikings were eager to get to 3-0 for the first time since 2018. Westchester would come out strong getting on the scoreboard first in the 26
th minute by a
Christian Antunez goal. Five minutes later in the 31
st minute
Joshua Leal would net the Viking second goal of the game. SUNY Westchester would move the score to 3-0 on a
Francesco Gigilo goal in the 34
th minute. The final goal of the half would come in the 40
th minute from the foot of
Lenan Pepic. The Vikings would fire off 18 shots in the first half while holding the Red Hawks to zero shots.
The second half saw much of the same from SUNY WCC however it would become the
Demoni Gordon show. The freshman from St. Thomas, Jamaica would earn his first hat-trick of the season scoring in the 45
th, 52, and 55
th minute putting his goal count to five on the year. Mijitaba Imam,
Kenneth Concha and Leal would all add late game goals as the Vikings would coast to victory.
Jonathan Bautista would earn the goalkeeper victory for the match seeing 57 minutes of playing time and getting the start in goal.
Westchester looks to their next match up tomorrow, September 17
th, when they host defending Mid-Hudson Conference Champion SUNY Ulster for a 4pm game here on Barrett Field.
