After coming off of six straight wins, the Vikings fell short in their attempt to extend it to seven against Dutchess Community College. Though the team fought hard to cut into their deficit in the second half, they ultimately came up short in the end.
Westchester's offense was led by Elijah Hernandez with 23 points and 4 rebounds, followed closely by Robert Bori with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Sophomore Mujahid Dine Yacoubou also made a significant impact, contributing a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
With just an eight point difference at halftime, WCC trailed behind Dutchess with a score of 36-28. Westchester fought hard in the second half, matching Dutchess point-for-point, with both teams scoring 45 points. However, despite their efforts, the Vikings couldn't quite overcome the deficit, and the game ended with a final score of 81-73.
The Vikings will return home this Thursday, January 30th, and hope to start a new winning streak as they face their next opponent, the County College of Morris Titans. The game tips off at 7PM in the Viking Gymnasium.
