Westchester Community College faced Orange Community College this past Tuesday night in a competitive matchup. Despite a determined effort and a strong start, they ultimately fell short in the end, with a final score of 93-78.
The Vikings came out with energy and confidence, keeping pace with the Colts throughout the first half. Their offensive execution and defensive efforts allowed them to remain within striking distance, trailing by only three points at halftime with a score of 42-39. However, as the game progressed into the second half, Orange began to widen the gap. Despite Westchester's resilience and continued efforts to rally, they were unable to regain control, ultimately suffering a tough defeat.
Leading the charge for the Vikings was Mujahid Dine Yacoubou, who earned himself an impressive double-double with 21 total points and 17 rebounds. Following closely behind was Chris Kirkland with 20 points and Elijah Hernandez with 19 points.
Although the final score was not the outcome the Vikings wanted, they push forward as they prepare for future matchups.
