This week, SUNY Westchester took on SUNY Rockland right in Viking Gymnasium. What seemed like an easy win for the Vikings after the first half, quickly turned into a nail-biting finish that had the crowd at the edge of their seats. 

The game was going the Vikings way as they put up 42 points in the first half before heading into the locker room. The second half would take a quick turn as the Rockland Hawks surged, adding 55 points to the scoreboard. While the Hawks put up more than double their first half total, the Vikings remained consistent, nearly keeping up with their score. With the dramatic lead change, Rockland had tied the game with less than a minute and a half to go.  Westchester had three players scoring in the double digits: Elijah Hernandez with 27 points, Chris Kirkland with 20 points, and Mujahid Dine Yacoubou earning himself 18 points. While the entire teams efforts were valued, the Vikings have Robert Bori to thank for the game-saving 3 pointer, ending the game with a score of 85-82.

The Vikings will head to Loch Sheldrake this Tuesday, February 18th, as they take on the Sullivan Generals at 7pm.
