Valhalla, NY - The SUNY Westchester Bowling team began their season at the Blue and Orange Invitational which the team hosted on January 27th. Blue and Orange pays homage to WCC's original color scheme that was later changed to Navy and Gold and has long been one of the tournaments hosted by the Vikings.
Freshman
Billy Parker got his season off to a strong start with a 2nd Place finish in All Events, putting up a 208 Average on the day. Sophomore returner Johnny Hector started of the day with a pair of scores over 160, but faded in later games when the oil patterns broke down a bit. He still managed to average 150 on the day. Parker and Hector combined to finish 2nd in Doubles while Parker finished 3rd overall in Singles.
On Sunday, January 28th, the Vikings were back at it again, hosting the Walter Hauck Memorial Classic. The tournament was named after the late great Walter Hauck, longtime administrator and bowling coach at WCC who passed away in 2023. The tournament featured and even tougher shot and was held at Carmel Spins Lanes. Parker once again finished 2nd in Doubles, but this time he was joined by Sophomore returner
Joseph Bizzoco, who totaled 1084 pins in their two-set series. Parker would go on to finished 6th in All Events with a 174 average, followed by Bizzoco and Hector at 156 and 150, respectively.
The Vikings return to action on Sunday, February 2nd when they host the Westchester Invitational at Spins Wappingers Falls at 9am.
