After giving it their all in the RussMatt tournament, the Vikings came back North for the busy week ahead. They would play Raritan Valley Community College yesterday in North Branch, NJ, where the game would end in a 13-13 tie.
SUNY Westchester would start the scoring with four runs by the second inning. In the bottom of the second, Raritan Valley would take the lead with 7 runs, and another 3 in the third, making the score 10-4. At the bottom of the sixth, WCC was down by 5. In the top of the seventh, they earned those 5 runs, tying the game. The game ended as the setting sun made it difficult for players to see the ball.
Joseph Cohen went 2 for 2 with an RBI. Nick Vendola went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Randel Weisner and Jhonny Ortiz both went 2 for 4. Westchester also saw a run each from Freddy Heymach, Peter Portugues, Lucas Feliciano, Michael Tiseo, and Elijah Villanueva.
The Vikings return home today to play County College of Morris at Vikings Field at 3:30pm.
