Yesterday, the Westchester Vikings traveled to Scranton, PA to take on Lackawanna College. After a back and forth game, the Vikings took a loss to the Falcons.
Westchester Community College started off strong with runs from Nick Vendola, Brandon Hernandez, Jhonny Ortiz, Joseph Cohen, and Randel Wiesner in the top of the first. Lackawanna responded with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first and two more in the second to tie it up. In the top of the third, the Vikings took the lead back with runs from Randel Wiesner, Lucas Feliciano and Elijah Villanueva. The Falcons would take the lead back in the bottom of the fourth inning, 9-8. Vikings would take the lead back in the fifth inning with runs from Villanueva and Vendola. The Falcons would immediately tie it up once again in the bottom of the fifth. After a run from Cohen, Lackawanna would take the lead back just by one. With such a close score nearing the end of the game, the pressure was on. Unfortunately for Westchester, they could not make any more runs, while Lackawanna took the win, 15-11.
The Vikings will be in Suffern, NY on May 1st to face region foe, Rockland Community College.
