As WCC's baseball team enters regional play, they have excelled in non-regional games early this season. They have amassed an impressive 14-6 record to date with their latest victory over Bronx Community College on Thursday, winning 10-4.
Scottie Giordano (Croton Harmon HS/Croton, NY) was the offensive star of the game, leading the team with four RBI's on the day. In the 2nd inning, the Vikings got on the board via a walked in run and a 2 RBI base hit by Giordano. The Broncos were able to keep it close though, plating a run in the 3rd and one in the 4th. WCC would pull away in the bottom of the inning though as
Alex Borman's (Huntington HS/Huntington, NY) RBI single scored
Paul Franzese (Somers HS/Somers, NY). Giordano then hit a sacrifice fly and
Steve Guzman (JFK HS/Bronx, NY) doubled to add two more runs. He later scored on a wild pitch as the team put up 5 runs in the inning.
Frankie Giuliano (Stepinac HS) started the game for the Vikings and pitched 6 solid innings for the win.
The team now moves on to play Holyoke CC in a double header on Sunday, April 2nd at 1pm. The game will be held on the WCC campus at West Field.
