Box Score 2 April 2, 2017 – Valhalla, NY
Game 1
The Vikings upped their winning streak to three with a win in Game 1 vs Holyoke, 12-4. Luke Mcdonagh (Carmel HS/Carmel, NY) started for WCC and was solid for five innings. He allowed three runs (two earned) on 6 hits with 3 strikeouts.
WCC got on the board early with 7 runs in the first 2 innings. Jose Delacruz (George Washington HS/New York, NY) notched the largest blows against the Cougars with two doubles in his first two plate appearances. He finished the game 2 for 3 with three RBIs. Brian Corporan (HS for Environmental Studies/Bronx, NY) went 4 for 4 with an RBI and 3 runs scored. Paul Franzese (Somers HS/Somers, NY) also chipped in with a homerun to straight away center field to help seal the victory.
Game 2
John Reda (Mahopac HS/Mahopac, NY) started game 2 and pitched five shutout innings with six strikeouts and one walk. The Vikings scored in every inning on the way to a 10-0 win in five innings.
Brian Corporan again was 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Steve Guzman (JFK HS/Bronx, NY) was 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs and a run scored.
With the double header sweep the Vikings improve to 16-6 on the season. They now go on the road to play Dutchess Community College in the first series of regional play, Wednesday, April 5th at 7pm at Dutchess Stadium.
