Box Score September 13, 2017 - Bayside, NY

The WCC Men's Soccer team opened the 2017 campaign with a victory yesterday, topping Queensborough CC 2-1.   The win starts the Vikings off on the right foot in what the team hopes will be a season where they can compete for conference and regional titles.   

Westchester fell behind early as QCC put the first ball in the back of the net in the 30th minute.   Though the team kept offensive pressure on the Tigers for much of the game, they were held scoreless until Joel Arevalo knocked in the equalizer off of a penalty kick in the 50th minute.  With less than five minutes left in the match, the Vikings took the lead when Arevalo struck again, scoring off of a feed by Luis Morales for the eventual game winner.  

WCC moves to 1-0 on the season and returns to action at their home opener on Thursday, September 14th.   The campus will celebrate the "Homecoming of the VIking" prior to and during the game, which kicks off at 4pm on Barrett Field.
