September 14, 2017 - Valhalla, NY

The Vikings men's soccer team notched their second win in three days as they defeated Ducthess Community College by the score of 8-1 on the "Homecoming of the Viking" Day.  In what was the team's home opener, the department of Student Involvement collaborated with athletics to host a tailgate party prior to the soccer match and women's volleyball game, held later on in the evening. 

WCC got on the board immediately when Felipe Scario De Oliveira scored within the 2^nd minute.  Freshman Franco LandronDeGuevarra then extended the lead by scoring in the 17^th minute for one of his three goals on the day.  By halftime, the Vikings led 5-0. 

Also getting in on the scoring was Jamar Gayle, Mate Mgeladze and Tobechukwu Obealor who all had a goal in the match.  Joel Aravalo, who scored two goals in his previous match vs Queensborough, knocked in another to go with two assists.  Luis Morales had a pair of assists as well, after picking one up vs QCC on Tuesday. 

With the win, the team moves to 2-0 on the season.  They will return to Barrett Field on Saturday, September 14^th as they take on the Senators of SUNY Ulster at 11am.
