Box Score Suffern, NY – #8 Men's Soccer continued their winning ways with a 6-1 victory over Rockland Community College Tuesday afternoon.
The Vikings continue to make a name for themselves proving that they are the team to beat heading into the postseason. At a record of 7-0-3 with three games to go in the regular season, the 2024 season has solidified itself as the best in program history.
Yesterday's 6-1 victory over the Hawks didn't come easy at first. The first half saw back and forth action on the pitch however, neither team would find the back of the net concluding a 0-0 score at halftime.
The start of the second half, SUNY WCC would answer first in the 49
th minute when
Christian Antunez would score his sixth goal of the season. Not to be outdone, the Vikings top goal scorer,
Demoni Gordon, would net the next two goals for Westchester putting them up 3-0 after the 60
th minute. Antunez would find his second goal of the game in the 64
th minute putting the Vikings up 4-0 heading towards the end of the match.
Kenneth Concha joined the scoring party with his fourth goal of the season putting SUNY WCC up 5-0 in the 74
th minute. Westchester's final goal would be scored by
Zane Bramson near the end of the match.
The Vikings now eye a crucial home game on Thursday, October 10
th, against perennial Region 15 powerhouse Suffolk Community College. Currently Westchester holds the top spot in the region in conjunction with Monroe-Bronx and with a tie or win, could solidify no less than a top-4 spot heading into the Region 15 tournament. Kickoff for Thursday's game will be at 4pm on Barrett Field.
