Don Weigand arrived on the campus of Westchester Community College in 1971, he soon became the manager for the WCC Football team that went a perfect 8-0, and captured the National Championship. After leaving WCC with an Associates of Arts degree in Liberal Arts Social Sciences, he moved onto the University of Bridgeport where he received both his Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science in Psychology and Guidance and Counseling in Higher Education, respectively.
After graduating, Don found himself back at WCC as an instructor in counseling the student development. Following several years away from the school, Don once again returned as thh Coordinator of Veterans Affairs.
In his career he has been honored in the 1998 "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" list and has received the 1996 SUNY Chancellors Award of Excellence in Professional Service Award. In addition to his outstanding academic work, Don was also a member of the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. While enlisted, he was awards the Bronze Star with Two Oak Leaf Clusters and received an Amy Commendation Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters.
