When talking about the greatest bowlers to grace the lanes for Westchester Community College, Lauren Azzinaro-Brower's name is sure to be brought up. For two years in 1999 and 2000, she gave great performances not only in her matches, but in the classroom as well. Joining the WCC Bowling team in 1999, Lauren made her presence known early by placing second in doubles with her partner Cathi Craft in the 1999 Westchester Invitational Tournament.Â
The year 2000 would prove to be even better for Brower. Matched up with new partner Storme Hannan, they repeated their second place finish at both the Westchester Invitational and the Region XV Championship. They also found success at the Hawk Invitational where they were crowned doubles champions and led their team to a second place finish overall. The teams stellar play was given national attention. They were ranked second overall in the NJCAA National Rankings and ended their season with a second place finish at the NJCAA Team National Championship.
For all of her success, Lauren was named to the All-Region XV Team in both 1999 and 2000. She was also recognized for her academic success by being named to the All-Region XV Academic Team both years.
