Hall of Fame
Tom Comenzo came to Westchester Community College in 1968 to direct the new football program and took the team to heights no one could ever imagine. Compiling a fantastic record of 66-15-1 in his time at Westchester, Coach Comenzo was named Coach of the Year in 1971, and his Vikings were ranked #1 in the country (out of 154 teams) by the National Football Foundation. He would repeat this feat once more in 1975 while leading WCC to an 11-0 season. In his nine years at Westchester, he won three National Club Titles, two Metropolitan Collegiate Bowl wins and three Schaefer Bowl wins.
Tom brought innovation and a hard nosed edge to a brand new program that needed an identity. Under his guidance, he took Westchester Football from its infancy to a program with several bowl wins and national rankings. It was Coach Comenzo's success that lead to their stadium being built on campus and several of his players going onto play at some of the biggest colleges and universities in the country.
