1996 was a very special year for the Men’s Basketball program at Westchester Community College. From its inception 1948 until 1995, the program had logged over 975 wins. That’s where the ’96 team made things magical, as they won the 1,000th game in WCC history. The 95-96 season was a great success which saw the team win Region XV Championship, and then go on to play in the District III Tournament. After taking home the District title, the team advanced to the National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas. On the season the ’96 team went 27-7 and finished as a top-10 team in the nation.
