Laurence Piturro attended Westchester Community College in 1987 and 1988. Both years he had outstanding achievements on the field. 1987 proved to be the beginning of Piturro’s illustrious soccer career; as he was named to the All-Region Team. In 1988, his play improved even more, earning him the honor of being named to the NJCAA All-American soccer team.
After his two years at Westchester, Laurence moved on to Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut. During his two year stay there, Piturro and his teammates won a Conference Title in 1990. Laurence then moved on to continue his career in Europe playing for professional teams in Italy and France.
Piturro found his way back to the United States where he played professionally for the Connecticut Wolves. He then went on to play for the Long Island Roughriders where he won a championship in 1995. In 1996, he was drafted in the 14th round of the MLS Draft to the Columbus Crew. He then returned to the Westchester area in 2000 to play for the Westchester Flames. Laurence is still an avid soccer player participating in various local leagues and tournaments, and spent nearly a decade as Associate Head Coach at Westchester Community College.
