Paul Ruddock came to WCC as a McDonald’s All-American from Andrew Jackson High School. Before his time with the Westcos, committed to Fresno
City College in California but would have a change in heart and found a home here in Valhalla. In his first year as a Viking, Paul helped the team to become a top 25 team in the country in the NJCAA
Division 1 polls. They finished the season 21st overall having been touted as high as 15th overall. Westchester earned a berth to the NJCAA National tournament but would fall to perennial powerhouse, Champlain Community College.
In his second season with the Vikings, the squad would once again be a contender for a National Championship as a top 25 team. Westchester would fall short of the Region 15
tournament ending Paul’s time as a Westcos but not before he earned a many individual accolades. He finished his career at the college as a two time All-Conference player, named to the All-Region team, and was named as an All-American
in the NJCAA. Ruddock averaged 20 points per game in his time with SUNY Westchester before moving onto Dowling College.
