Hall of Fame
When it comes to enshrinement into the Westchester Community College Sports Hall of Fame, there are dozens of examples of student-athletes who earned All-Region honors for their sport. Tonight, we are proud to induct a Viking who accomplished this feat for two sports during his time in Valhalla.
Â
Kevin Callagy was a Soccer and Baseball player for Westchester Community College, competing for two years in both sports, before graduating in 1977. During the 1976 Soccer season, Callagy earned First Team All-Region honors as a Goalkeeper. An Outfielder for the Westchester CC Baseball program, Callagy earned First Team All-Region in 1977.
Â
After Westchester, Callagy transferred to SUNY Cortland, where he was a member of the 1977 Red Dragon Soccer team that won the SUNYAC Championship, and advanced to the NCAA
Championship Game.
Â
Callagy then spent his career as a Physical Education Teacher, and later a Business Education Teacher, while also serving as the Boys Varsity Soccer Coach at the Stamford Central School, winning 219 games over 22 seasons. He also coaches Baseball and Basketball during an outstanding coaching career, and spent 22 seasons as a Baseball and Basketball official. His career continues to this day as a School District Business Administrator.
